Updates on zooarchaeology

By Laerke Recht, Associate editor for zooarchaeology

While Covid-19 is continuing to challenge teaching, there is a (bittersweet) silver lining in that it is also providing access to many conferences and online lectures as they have mostly gone virtual. Some have already taken place (e.g. the FIG Symposium in March), and coming up in the next months and over the year are a wonderful selection of animal and zooarchaeology-related workshops and conferences: for example PZAF in June, ICAZ Marine Mammal Working Group Meeting in September, and many specialised sessions at the EAA in September and ASOR in November/December.
