Big news for SAS members! You now have free access to the absolutely massive Encyclopedia of Archaeological Sciences for the next 18 months! Current members should have received an e-mail with instructions on how to use the encyclopedia from General Secretary Dr. Kyle Freund, but the best part is that this offer applies to new members too for 18 months after you join. Considering that the retail price on Amazon for the encyclopedia is just shy of $600 and SAS membership costs $30 for regular members and $20 per year for students, we'd call that a deal.

If you are new to Wiley Online Library (WOL) and have not yet registered:

- Click on the ‘Login/Register’ button in the top right-hand corner of the screen and then click ‘New User’ in the bottom left-hand corner of the box that pops up (Registering is a one-time process, for which you will be asked to supply email address, name, country, and area of interest. You will NOT be sent any further email alerts unless you opt to receive such messages)
- Fill in your details in the available fields.
- An authentication email will be sent to the email address you provided. Click on the link in this email to validate your account. You will now be successfully registered on WOL.
- Once you have registered, make sure that you are logged into WOL (Your name should show in the top right-hand corner). Hover over your name with your mouse and then click on 'My Account' which will appear.
- Next, click on ‘Free Access Code’ under the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Enter the following trial access code: ---Join SAS for the code--- and click ‘Submit Code’. A ‘Trial Confirmation’ message should appear.
- To access the content, visit the The Encyclopedia of Archaeological Sciences eMRW homepage at https://www.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/book/10.1002/9781119188230 where you should see a 'Full Access' logo alongside. You can access articles by title or topic under the ‘Find Articles’ menu on the left hand side of the screen.
If you already have a Wiley Online Library (or previously, Wiley Interscience) username and password, follow steps 5-7 above.
Please do not share the password generally with students or other people in your department or laboratory. As sponsors of the encyclopedia, the SAS negotiated free access on behalf of our membership; please respect that effort and your fellow members.
PS: Stay tuned for an interview with the editor of the encyclopedia, Dr. Sandra L. López Varela, in the SAS Bulletin later this year about how she led this huge undertaking.
