Travel bursaries are available for student SAS members participating in the International Symposium on Archaeometry
- Three $500 USD bursaries will be awarded by SAS to students presenting at the 42nd International Symposium on Archaeometry (ISA) in Mérida, Mexico from May 20th – 26th , 2018
- Applicants must be current dues paying SAS members at the time of submission: http://www.socarchsci.org/memb.html
- Preference will be given to applicants from countries traditionally underrepresented at the International Symposium on Archaeometry, but all student participants are encouraged to apply
- Bursary funds are unrestricted; awardees may use funds for any conference related expenses and will not be required to provide receipts
- Bursary delivery: PayPal is preferable but SAS can also send a wire transfer directly to your bank or provide a check or cash (USD) at the ISA meeting. If you are awarded a bursary SAS will ask for your preferred method.
- Each applicant must submit the following items to SAS by April 10th, 2018
- Proof of conference registration (receipt from ISA)
- Proof of presentation at the conference (e-mail from ISA stating that your submission was accepted)
- Poster or presentation abstract text as submitted to ISA
- Image of current student identification card (or letter from your supervisor or
department head confirming student status)
- Statement agreeing to provide an extended abstract/short article (~1000 words) about your research to be published in the SAS Bulletin after the ISA meeting
